Camp Meeting

For more than 100 years, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has been conducting camp meetings. These convocations, held annually, are spiritual renewal gatherings for members of the church and their guests. Jomo Kenyatta University Seventh Day Adventist (JKUSDA) Church has planned for a one week camp meeting filled with seminars and sermons that teach biblical principles, healthier lifestyles, practical living principles, and much more, spiritual revival.

The “Old Fashioned Camp Meeting” has been a source of encouragement, conviction, inspiration and for many, a place of salvation.  In the early days, camp meeting was a moving, evangelistic event. Wherever there was an area ripe for harvest there was a call for a camp meeting.

Its finally here with us ,JKUSDA camp meeting 2014, the first ever of its kind.

1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Hosts

Pr. Kombe Amos – The Chaplain JKUSDA Church

We are glad you are here, not for lectures, but to participate in this grand and historic event, JKUSDA’s first ever camp meeting. For seven days we shall be at Jesus’ feet, not to argue academically or theologically or otherwise, but to, in all humility, sit at Jesus’ feet (as commanded in Leviticus 23:41): To listen to Him as He lovingly speaks to us, feast on His word, behold His beauty, experience His munificence and celebrate His grace.

The Lord is good and He means what He says. Come into His presence with gladness, praises and thanksgiving. Please do not miss this wholesome, life changing and Holy convocation. Come with a friend to receive these blessings to prepare you for service and for His second coming because He truly is coming.

Zaddoch Opiyo – The Camp Meeting Committee Chairperson
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I would like to welcome us to the 2014 JKUSDA Camp Meeting “Let all who possibly can, attend these yearly gatherings. All should feel that God requires this of them. If they do not avail themselves of the privileges which He has provided for them to become strong in Him and in the power of His grace, they will grow weaker and weaker, and have less and less desire to consecrate all to Him. Come, brethren and sisters, to these sacred convocation meetings, to find Jesus. He will come up to the feast; He will be present, and will do for you that which you need most to have done. Your farms should not be considered of greater value than the higher interests of the soul. All the treasures you possess, be they ever so valuable, would not be rich enough to buy you peace and hope, which would be infinite gain at the cost of all you have and the toils and sufferings of a lifetime. A strong, clear sense of eternal things, and a heart willing to yield all to Christ, are blessings of more value than all the riches and pleasures and glories of this world.{2T 600}”

DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR GIFTS IN TERMS OF EXPENSES AND CAMP MEETING OFFERINGS….DEUTRONOMY 16:17 “Every man[shall give] as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which He hath given thee.”

God is planning for a revival and a transformation of your life. You will not remain the same at the end of this special week-henceforth.  Come and drink from the Great Fountain.

Be blessed as we worship Him in Spirit and Truth in this year’s Camp Meeting.

THEME SONG:
I DO BELIEVE
(SDAH 486) | Charles Wesley
Father I stretch my hands to thee: No other
help I know; if though withdraw thyself from
me, Ah, whither shall I go?

Refrain
I do believe, I now believe That Jesus died
For me, And that He shed His Precious blood
From sin to set me free

On Thy Dear son I now believe, O let me feel
Thy Power; And all my varied wants relieve,
                In this accepted hour.

Author of Faith! To Thee I lift my weary,
Longing eyes; O let me now receive that gift;
                My soul without it dies.

Surely Thy canst not let me die; O speak,
And I shall live; And here I will unwearied
Lie, Till Thou Thy Spirit give.

How would my fainting soul rejoice Could I
But see Thy Face! Now let me hear Thy
Quickening voice, And taste Thy pardoning
                                   Grace.
